Introduction: This game is adapted from a "flash card" game, the title of which escapes me, which Menza ("The High IQ Society") gave it's strongest rating. As such, it should come as no surprise that, in addition to the object of the game, there is a more important meta-object - that being, to force a person to think creatively. As such, one should not concentrate so much upon winning the game, but rather upon expanding one's mental horizons. This isn't the most exciting game on the planet, but my hallucination is that if we are bored enough in life to spend our days or nights at websites devoted to chatting, then we'll play anything.
The Object: The first person to reach 100 points wins the game.
The Play: The game begins with a word being randomly selected from a word list; this word will be shown to all players - it is the word to be matched. Each player will be dealt five words at random, and from those five words the player must use his or her creativity to try to select a word that can be associated with the word to be matched. Sometimes a match may be trivial, such as if the word to be matched is "bird" and the player has the word "seed" in his or her hand. Often, however, there will be no easy match and one must use their head for more than merely a hair anchor to select the best word from his or her hand.
Scoring: When at least two players have played a hand, any new person entering the game will be given the choice to either enter the trick as a player, or to end the trick by judging which of the current players picked the best match for the word to be matched. The person whos word is chosen by the judge to be the best match receives one point for every player whom he or she beat in the trick. Note: The judge should take care when choosing a winner and should demonstrate that care by explaining his or her choice. These explanations may be viewed by others on the Judges Comments page.
