I disagree.
It's one thing to be able to defend a country.
It is quite another to have a country worth defending.

We have to all understand that Arab Americans are still Americans too. However, the government has a watch list of potential troublemakers here in our country on Visas that do need to be watched.

I agree that stronger background checks should be happening at our embassys where these Visas are given out. But I don't agree to closing our borders beyond this investigation period.

Do you know why we cannot effectively infiltrate these groups? We aren't Arabs.
Do you know why we need to detain, question, and glean information from those residing in America from the middle east? They are Arabs.
You can put a pretty face on our national diversity and say "please stop unjust hatred", but this is just the same as when we HAD TO, FOR REASONS OF SECURITY, intern japanese Americans in the 40s.
This conflict is based on not just national opponents, but has a very real racial element too. "They" are pretty much exclusively Arabic. This is not going to be a popular observation, but this conflict, again, is going to be a matter of race just as much as nationality.
Can any of you who are NOT of arabic descent see those who are plainly middle eastern and not view them with suspicion? We had better.
WE HAD BETTER!
For the battle is just as likely to be fought inside the continental USA, where they have already infiltrated and lived among us, than some eurasian setting.
The Arab you see next to you might not be the person you thought they were.
I'm sorry to have to think like this, but thinking like this prevents further tragedy.
Detain, question, round up, and intern them.
For those of you who disagree, I would suppose that you probably find the concept of quarantining those who are HIV+ abhorrent too. Well, what's YOUR solution then?

It is so sad...but it is true that if the American Arabs start a riff to happen in America by causing Chaos. They will be removed I assure you. This is even more so than in the 40's. What happens to one of us...happens to all of us. I do not want any American citizens to be rounded up for any reason other than a criminal one. "New type of war"
We will get them with a different type of war. We have waged our intelligence against them. We have changed a few things tha really needed changing anyway. But as Americans our imaginations have never thought of such a scenario so we shouldn't feel bad for not knowing what evil people can contrive.
Smarter now...
In the future we go ahead as a smarter country. Now, we know what we must do. We must wipe out terrorism. You may not notice or see a thing on the surface for a while but the precise people who are involved will be found and we will give them some payback.
"Get them from the inside"
We cannot look upon all people as evil and so we must assume all people are good until proven otherwise. It is ashamed that such madmen can exist but the brainwashing has gone on for generations in these terrorist cells. We must infiltrate them from the inside. We have to start to make Bin Laden wonder who he can trust.
Bin Ladin has Index Investments...
Now they have found that Bin Laden had investments in the index which is sort of an insurance policy, so that in the invent that a stock loses money you are a lottery winner. Anyway, now we are learning that he was profitting monetarily because he has index investments in Airlines and travel industry and such. So he makes money from our losses...NOT! (that is really what he planned) His assets were just frozen today. That includes any access to his investments as well.
Go USA! We are gonna get em through the pocketbook. The other way we could just shut down these guys is to drive electric cars and save all our fuel for the military. Are you ready...I am ready..Give me an electric car that I can afford and I will buy it. As long as we all make the change other than trucks and Military. We could cut off the need for foreign oil.
