Have you guys ever found yourself saying these out loud in normal conversations with irl people? I almost did a couple of times, even now if I think of something funny I think 'lol'.Is this the point I need to seek professional help for living in virtual land instead of real life?

Ugh. I despise those terms and never use them - with one exception: In Trillian they make an icon, and sometimes I find myself typing that when I want the icon and I've forgotten that the person on the other end is not using Trillian.I do, however, like shorthands like "BRB", "BBS", and "BBL" - that sort of thing, and I HAVE actually used them in face to face conversations. I'll walk out of the room and say, "Bee are bee!" Then I think to myself, "Sheesh - what a smeghead."  |

I said "LMAO" to my sister the other day and then I said do you know what that means and she said "no." I said sorry, it means you make me laugh my ass off. She said "ok sis"
I remember, when I had never chatted on-line, and Deb of Metalflakes had come up here to meet my husband who had been her freind for a long time on the Internet and she had that button on her shirt that said "LMAO" and I said what does that mean? and of course she told me. Well, that was when I knew I was missing out on stuff and since then I have met some friends on-line and I am chatting like crazy!
But it is amazing the meanings we give to stuff that the world of the non-chatting know nothing of. |

I have been on an "anti-LMAO-LOL-ROFLMAO" kick for over a year now, I think. However, the little icon and laughing sound that Trillian makes has lent itself to my using them occasionally. I wish everyone used Trillian. |

I have used chat lingo irl(yup said that one too) and people get real confused I alway's end up giving chat lingo 101. Like Jefferson I use trillion and alot of time's hit certain icon's just to hear the giggle or a cat meow...people not on trillion end up asking me why I typed those emoticons ROFLMAO! |
