It is just a trip how we can land on the moon, but we haven't seen a giant squid live in the ocean, here on our own planet. I was star charting with Xena the other night, when we were talking about the moon and I began to tell her how we took a rocketship and flew up there once and landed on it and that totally blew her mind. She said, "really?" I said," yes we did when I was 9 years old." I have never seen my child so stunned. I guess it really does sound unbelieveable. I am impressed with this new tether technology NASA is trying to develop. It will launch things into orbit without jet fuel. But I was thinking about it and if this gets fully developed, it could make launching deadly weapons to the other side of the earth even quicker too. The first attempt failed but they are trying to find a material that will not burn up but is thin enough. They are trying some carbon based rods on the next try, I think. Things in orbit travel very fast so with tether technology...you could get thrown into orbit and taken back out or orbit on the other side of the world in 32 minutes. I believe that is what I remember, reading.
