I'm sitting here, kinda bored because there's no one on, and I'm just curious if anyone's seen any really bad music videos lately?
I just saw "Turn Me Loose" by Loverboy, and its TERRIBLE! The lead singer looks like he's undergoing a barium enema...
Of course, to really appreciate my horror and astonishment at having witnessed such a strangely hypnotic chunk of celluloid as this, you really need to have seen it... I strongly urge you all to search it out if you haven't had the pleasure of watching ... download it, keep vh1 on 24/7, or steal it from your brother's unibomber-type pal Lloyd... whatever you have to do...

I prefer to tackle this from another direction: i.e., have you ever seen a GOOD music video? That's easier to answer, since nearly all music videos are a waste of the 3+ minutes of life that a person, unfortunately, devotes to watching the worthless thing.I just saw the most awesome one - it's 37 Megabytes, unfortunately, so I won't be uploading it anywhere - but it's on the Blackmore's Night Fires at Midnight album for a song written by Bob Dylan called: The Times They Are A Changin'. God that woman's beautiful - and, better, she's got the most lovely voice ever. And the lyrics on that album...it's incredible - they're very Dio-esque, which adds to my perception of Blackmore's Night as being a sort of Ritchie Blackmore's Rainbow with this remarkable woman on vocals instead of Dio (actually, it sounds like a cross between Rainbow and Celtic music - I swear, I can't stop listening to this damned thing on CD - and when the CD isn't on, playing the song in myhead, and when I hear/play in my head The Times They Are A Changin', imagining that video). |

I'll have to check that out, ouro... Have I ever seen a good music video? Indeed, my friend! "Crash Into Me" by the Dave Matthews Band is phenomenal... Other faves include "Liar" by Rollins Band and "Heaven Sent" by Esthero... And of course, one cannot forget Phillip Michael Thomas' (of Miami Vice fame, for those of you kiddies who were lucky enough to be born in the mid to late eighties) breif but certainly intoxicating venture into the topsy turvy, jerry curlie, eighties music video scene. Ciao. |

I think Madonna's "Bedtime Story" is visually, a good video. The 'Where's your head at' video imho, is pretty cool as well The problem with alot of the 80's video's is the band was performing for a camera with a plain white background...boring. |
