Now And ThenThe past is so familiar
But that's why you couldn't stay
Too many ghosts, too many haunted dreams
Beside you were built to find your own way...
But after all these years, I thought we'd still hold on
But when I reach for you and search your eyes
I see you've already gone...
That's OK
I'll be fine
I've got myself, I'll heal in time
But when you leave just remember what we had...
There's more to life than just you
I may cry but I'll make it through
And I know that the sun will shine again
Though I may think of you now and then...
Can't do a thing with ashes
But throw them to the wind...
Though this heart may be in pieces now
You know I'll build it up again and
I'll come back stronger than I ever did before
Just don't turn around when you walk out that door...
That's OK
I'll be fine
I've got myself, I'll heal in time
And even though our stories at the end
I still may think of you now and then...
I sent this to Blackmore's Night:
quote:
Richard Bach (author of Jonathan Livingston Seagull, Illusions, and other excellent books) once wrote about how wonderful is the feeling to purchase something someone's created and to think to one's self, "...a portion of THIS VERY DOLLAR will be going to this artist as a token of thanks for the enrichment they've brought to my life."I regret that CDs cost so little for the pleasure that they give, and that so little of a token of appreciation goes to Blackmore's Night for the pleasure that they bring. I just received my copy of Under a Violet Moon from CDNOW and I'm blown away...again - a similar experience to what I felt upon listening to Fires at Midnight and Shadow of the Moon. "Now and Then" is, quite possibly, the prettiest song I've ever heard - I can't stop listening to it. And the *blasphemy* of someone else presuming to be able to sing a Dio song (Self Portrait) is smothered by the realization that Candice performs the song in her own style even better than does RJD in his own.
You (Blackmore's Night) make my heart ache for more. You're now my favorite band - truly the best music I've ever heard, on par with Vivaldi and Mozart in your own way.
