Well, I made it home alive from whitewater rafting, but I really did have a heck of ride down the river without a boat this time and you know what I learned? You can get hurt while doing this! Duh! I just thought only other people fall out of the raft...not me! But I fell out at a really bad place and went about a 1/4 mile with out a boat. It was quite an experience that left me quite happy just to be alive. The rapid I fell into kept me under a long time before popping me out. So when I came up I could not get a breath in for anything. I was then beat against several rocks before latching on to a guys kayak, that was drifting by me. I told him I could not breathe. I said to him "please let me rest here a minute." He did let me rest and then, my boat and crew showed up to rescue me soon after. Thank goodness for that guy on the red kayak. I couldn't even see his face because of the life jacket up around my head. I don't think I am ready to go again for a while if ever again! Ouroboros posted 09-06-2002 12:57 PM PT (US)

That was the best feeling in the world! Getting flopped like a limp fish into the boat! Yeah, I am laffin NOW but I was pretty freaked out at the time. My pinky finger is healing nicely.
