It seems that the vast majority of people are against a war , not that I'm suprised mind, and several protests have already taken place. I thought these protests were about as far as things had got.
Sad to say this isnt the case...British ex-soldiers are getting call-up papers already.
Now a lot of peeps say Tony Blair and the British government are daft for getting involved but i say no....the M.O.D. (ministry of defense ) is just daft. Would you believe they sent call-up papers to a gentleman in a wheelchair? A gentleman who has first hand experience of warfare for sure but, to use his own words " we fought with guns and bayonets not missiles and the like"
This gent isnt afraid to go fight and would love the chance to battle for his country once again but agrees he wouldnt be much use , even if he wasnt in the wheelchair.
I have nothing but respect for the courage this brave warrior has shown but surely he did his bit for Queen and country when he fought at the battle for el alamien ( not sure bout spelling on that )...yeah thats right.... this 'recruit' is over eighty years old!!!
Its fighting spirit like his that makes me proud of our nations and the sons they have raised.
God bless all our veterans, may they get the peace they have earned...
