What did you reformat?
Top reasons a cam image might look like smeg:
1) Poor lighting (and a camera that handles lighting poorly) - solution, buy lots of high output flourescent lights, or buy a 3Com Homeconnect camera.
2) The driver settings have been adjusted away from their defaults. Solution - click the "Source" button in ChillCam or go to the "Source" menu in Webcam32 and find the "Restore Defaults" button (don't forget to click it).
3) You're launching the program and then immediately minimizing it without letting the video window remain on the screen long enough to adjust to the light. (Solution is obvious.)
4) You have the program minimized when you change the lighting in your room, but you don't restore the video window so that the camera can adjust to the light. (Again, obvious.)
A helper for 3 and 4: Make sure the video refresh rate is set as fast as possible (in ChillCam this is 10ms - find it on the "Options" menu.
